Rose-Quartz

Associated with many of the pegmatite's of the mica-belts, there is abundant occurrence of Rose-Quartz. This varies from pale-pink to rosy colours and is translucent. After cutting and polishing it can yield most pleasing material and can prove to be very suitable for small panels or carved ornaments. It is reported particularly abundant in the mines north-east of Parasabad Station and, if care were exercised in mining, quite large pieces could be extracted. Presently, the material is being thrown away on the dump-heaps.
